Mount Tinbeerwah

Location: Tewantin Forest Reserve (Sunshine Coast), South East QLD
Date: 10th August, 2014
Distance: 0.5 km
Time: 15 min

North of the Glass House Mountains lie several scattered, rocky peaks, jutting out above the coastal plains inland from Noosa. I set out this arvo to tackle two of these isolated mountains: Mt Tinbeerwah and Mt Cooroora, both a short drive from the Bruce Highway and the town of Cooroy.

The trail to the 265 m summit of Mt Tinbeerwah is very short and easy, as the road heading up through Tewantin NP covers most of the height and you are left to complete the final, rocky section on foot. The first 150 m to a lookout is paved (although there are views all the way up), but most of the summit region is just rock so you can basically make your own way around.

Unfortunately I was pushed for time and so couldn't stay for long here, but I would like to return one day and spend a bit more time enjoying the awesome views.
