This short walk incorporates two easy circuits that follow, cross and meander alongside Little Yabba Creek and some other streams.

After crossing Little Yabba Creek, the track runs beside it through low-lying bushes and (what I assume to be) bright and colourful weeds. In the middle of the day it was very hot.

Bright purple weed?

After 5 minutes I was rewarded with thicker forest cover that provided good relief from the heat. Signage indicated I was still in stinging nettle territory, again warning me to avoid touching their leaves as the nettles inflict painful stings that can apparently last for months!

A stinging nettle leaf? Probably not worth touching to find out

Shortly afterwards I met the junction with Piccabeen circuit, the track now entering rainforest dominated by piccabeen palms. Although most of the creeks were dry, the little wooden bridges made great spots to stop and enjoy the scenery. Despite being the middle of the day, several times I spotted little wallabies hopping around the trail ahead, evidently hoping to find water in one of the creeks. Numerous birds also made their presence known and I heard, once again, the uncanny human-like bellow of the wompoo pigeon.

The track began to climb steadily to a crest just past the midway point, before cruising back downhill through pine forest to the junction. This was really the only section of the walk that wasn't flat.

Crossing back over Little Yabba Creek, it's only a few minutes back to Charlie Moreland camping area and the car park.
