Description:
This is a good introductory walk to Lamington NP. Botanically, it is one of the most diverse in the park, featuring various rainforest and open forest types, as well as extensive heathland. The low-level and relatively open heath country surrounds the rocky south eastern escarpment offering several vantage points over Numinbah Valley. A rocky outcrop known as Surprise Rock can be climbed and provides one of the best lookouts in the park. The outcrop can be explored further and a short but steep scramble can be used to descend to the main track further on.
Daves Creek Circuit is suitable for walking any time of the year, but flowers are profuse in Spring.
