Location: Blue Mountains National Park, NSW
Date: 31st December, 2013
Distance: 6.5 km
Time: 2.5 h
Of all the walks we did in the Blue Mountains, this was easily the best. The circuit starts at Evans lookout, and descends steeply into the 'grand canyon,' surrounding you with sheer rock walls and fern-lined creeks. The rainforest in the canyon is beautiful and, unlike
the exposed Lockley Pylon walk, completely sheltered us from the hot Summer sun. Although touted as one of the most popular routes in the park, we barely saw anybody on the track (I guess nobody does it in the afternoon?).
